Is my boyfriend a pedophile?

My boyfriend is 16, here year older then me, I know I'm young but I take relationships very seriously. Everyone is always calling my boyfriend a pedophile, a child molester and things like that, I just wanna know is three years really that bad? We both really like each other and we want it to last, but it really pisses me off when people say that about us, please help, and I'd appreciate no rude comments.
