South Florida Marriage Laws?

My fiance and I are getting married next year. We can't afford a ceremony right now so we were planning on going to a courthouse and getting married there. I've been looking into the marriage process here and I can't make a whole lot of sense of it. If anyone living in Florida got married here can you please help me out and explain it to me?
